Ken Rosenthal of Foxsports.com reports that the Mets have signed Billy Wagner to a four-year contract worth $43 million. The deal includes a club option for a fifth year at $10 million or a $3 million buyout. Wagner will anchor what currently looks like a very weak bullpen in New York.

Wagner is looking for a three-year contract for $27 million to $30 million, with some type of no-trade protection.

"We felt it was important to have a face-to-face meeting with them," assistant general manager Ruben Amaro said. "We had an excellent dialogue regarding Billy's future with us as well as our desire to keep him in Philadelphia. We made a proposal, received feedback, understand we have ground to cover and plan to have further discussions." Re-signing Wagner is the Phillies' top priority this offseason.

Wagner is looking for a three-year, $24 million contract with a complete no-trade clause and no option years. "I don't think they're interested," said Wagner. "I'd just like to see some talking. If they're not willing to do anything, then they're not willing to do anything. It doesn't have to be done before the end of the month, but they need to make a good, honest effort."
