| August 11, 2006 Brewers manager Ned Yost said Friday that he was benching Geoff Jenkins. Yost said that he would begin giving Gabe Gross and Corey Hart more playing time at the expense of Jenkins. "We've got six weeks left in the season," Yost said. "We need to find out where we're at. Neither one of those guys has had extended playing time this year." Jenkins is hitting .254 with a pitiful .393 slugging percentage this season. Yost admitted that the decision was difficult because of Jenkins' long tenure as a productive player for Milwaukee. |
