Joe Borowski has been designated for assignment, according to Scout.com.
July 3, 2008
Joe Borowski's role as closer will be the subject of talks among Indians management on today's off day, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Manager Eric Wedge would not say if Masa Kobayashi will take over that role. "I'm not going to speculate on that. It takes us down a road that doesn't do anyone any good," he said.

Joe Borowski pitched the ninth inning on Thursday and was perfect in wrapping up his sixth save of the year to drop his ERA to 7.70.
June 11, 2008
Cleveland reliever Joe Borowski hasn't been the picture of stability this season but hopes of a reversal of fortunes had come alive with better results over recent weeks. Tonight he may have ruined that momentum, out of position for the save but still in the game in the ninth in the 8-5 loss to Minnesota. Borowski pitched one inning, giving up two runs (both earned) on three hits on just 24 pitches.
