Marlins manager Joe Girardi reiterated yesterday that he's not locked in to using Joe Borowski in save situations, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Borowski had converted five straight save attempts before blowing one Friday. Meanwhile, Logan Kensing blew two last week. "Obviously, you'd love to go with one person," Girardi said. "You also have a situation where you can push young players and see how they're going to react. The job here is to win games, but part of it is to teach and expand roles. Joe is going to get a lot of chances."

Although Joe Borowski is the favorite candidate to close games for the Marlins this year, manager Joe Girardi said Thursday that the closer for opening day isn't guaranteed, according to the Sun-Sentinel. "We'll look at matchups. We think that we have a few guys who can close," Girardi said.
