After starting yesterday's game, Jorge Posada probably will rest today, according to the New York Daily News. That will give Posada a little extra rest before the playoffs and Sal Fasano one more start.

Jorge Posada was a late scratch yesterday because his right index finger was swollen, according to the New York Daily News. Posada sustained the injury when he was hit by a foul ball in the 11th inning the night before. His status for tonight is uncertain.

Although Jorge Posada said he could pinch-hit if needed, he added that the biggest problem presented by his torn hamstring tendon is running the bases, according to the New York Daily News. While it's unclear when he'll be ready to catch again, Yankees manager Joe Torre said that "it'll be significantly less than" the 15 days it would cost Posada to head to the disabled list.
