Braden Looper was ejected in the seventh inning of the second game of Thursday's doubleheader after hitting J.D. Closser on the leg with a pitch. Closser slid hard into second trying to break up a double play in the sixth inning and injured Joe McEwing's knee in the process.

Braden Looper has agreed to a two-year, $6.5 million contract with the Mets. The deal includes a club option for 2006. Looper went 6-4 with 28 saves and a 3.68 ERA in 74 appearances last season for the Marlins. He\'s expected to serve as the Mets\' closer.
