The Cardinals activated Braden Looper, who was out with a right shoulder strain, from the DL in time to start Monday's game against the Diamondbacks, according to the AP. He was 6-6 with a 4.66 ERA in his first year as a starter before being disabled on June 16.

Braden Looper is expected to be activated off the DL and start on Monday against Arizona, the AP reports. Looper has been sidelined since June 16 with a sore pitching shoulder.

The Cardinals believe that Braden Looper may be able to come off the disabled list and start this weekend against the Reds, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Looper is out due to a right shoulder strain.

Braden Looper, who left his last start with shoulder stiffness, and was placed on the disabled list on Monday, according to the AP. Perhaps this injury shouldn't be seen as a surprise, as Looper has already pitched 10 more innings this year than he did all of last year out of the bullpen. This move means that, at least for the time being, Kip Wells' spot in the starting rotation is safe.

Braden Looper left Friday's game against Oakland after getting Bobby Crosby to ground out to third base in the fifth inning, according to the AP. Cardinals manager Tony La Russa visited the mound with head trainer Barry Weinberg. There was nothing visibly wrong with Looper, but La Russa called for Andy Cavazos, who came in cold.
