Drew, recovering from a herniated disc in his back, took live batting practice on Saturday. He hopes to return during Boston's upcoming homestand, according to the Boston Globe.

J.D. Drew, who is recovering from a herniated disc, will try to face live batting practice today, according to the Boston Globe. Manager Terry Francona said, "We'll kind of see where he is. He said it seems like he takes a step forward and then one back. So we'll just see where he's at. I think he's hoping that he's only maybe a couple, three days away. Until it goes away, we'll just deal with it."

J.D. Drew will take batting practice and shag flyballs on Friday. He has not played since August 17th due to a herniated disc. The Providence Journal reports that he hopes to be back in three to four days.

J.D. Drew took indoor batting practice on Monday, the first time he has been in the cage since August 17th because of back pain, according to the Boston Herald.
