Carlos Lee left Saturday's game in the third inning with a strained right hip flexor, the AP reports. He's considered day-to-day for now; we'll see what the club learns on his condition Sunday.

Phil Garner has no problem with letting Carlos Lee run on his own like he did in the second inning Saturday, the Houston Chronicle reports. Lee was caught stealing easily, making him 2-for-4 on stolen-base attempts this year. Lee was 19-for-21 on steals last year, despite his 6-2, 240-pound build. "He might get thrown out a few times," Garner said, "but if he steals 20 out of 25, that's still pretty good, and I'll take that."

Carlos Lee earned a piece of his $100 million offseason contract on Friday night, whacking three home runs and drive in six against the Phillies. "At the beginning of the season I was trying to do too much," Lee told the AP. "Now I'm trying to see the ball more. All of the homers were on fastballs. I was patient enough to wait for fastballs." Lee now has four homers and 12 RBI on the season.

Carlos Lee returned to left field Tuesday, the Astros official site reports. He's been dealing with a sore shoulder but it's not a major concern; Tuesday's game in the field was his first since March 4. Lee finished the day 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Carlos Lee was limited to designated hitting duties yesterday due to a sore arm, according to the Houston Chronicle. At this point, it appears the Astros are simply being cautious with him.
