Fernando Tatis had a pair of RBI singles in the Mets' 5-3 win over the Marlins Tuesday. He now has six hits, including a home run in 15 at-bats for New York since his call-up.
April 13, 2008
Fernando Tatis hit his fourth home run of the season at Triple-A on Saturday. The former Cardinals 30 home run hitter is now 33-years-old and hitting just .189, but he is showing versatility in the minors by playing at shortstop and could get himself a call-up or two at some point this season. At the very least, it looks like he still has pop.
March 14, 2007
The Dodgers released Fernando Tatis on Wednesday - three days after he failed to report to minor league camp, according to the AP. "We released Tatis because we released him. That's all I want to say about that right now," GM Ned Colletti said Wednesday. Tatis was hitting just .158 this spring (3-for-19).
January 23, 2007
The Dodgers signed Fernando Tatis to a minor league contract on Tuesday, according to the AP. He would get a $500,000, one-year contract if he's added to the 40-man roster. Tatis played in 28 games for the Orioles last season, hitting .250 with two homers and 18 RBI.
August 19, 2006
For the second straight game, Fernando Tatis started at first base for the O's on Friday, something that might happen more often down the stretch, according to the Baltimore Sun. "We'll continue to put him in here and there and maybe more than here and there," manager Sam Perlozzo said. "He can play third, we'll get him a little more experience at first and maybe a little in the outfield."
