Juan Encarnacion will be re-examined later this month to determine whether he will need surgery to deal with a damaged tendon in his left wrist, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He needed an injection into the joint shortly after the World Series.

Juan Encarnacion hasn't had any setbacks with his hip since returning to the lineup Wednesday, the Cardinals official site reports. "It feels OK, it's not bad," Encarnacion said Thursday. Tony LaRussa moved Preston Wilson to center field and put Encarnacion in right on Thursday night for the second straight day, so that Encarnacion theoretically wouldn't have to cover as much ground defensively.
