Miguel Batista was feeling better on Thursday after being forced out of Wednesday's start after only 23 pitches due to a strained right groin, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Miguel Batista is officially slated to start on Wednesday in place of Erik Bedard, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Manager Jim Riggleman said, "The way Miguel aired it out against the Tigers in relief, that's why I want to see him back in the rotation. He was throwing hard and with location. Now we might not see exactly that, not when he's going to try to pitch deep into the game, but as long as he's in command of the strike zone, that's what we want."

Miguel Batista stated that his back was bothering him after getting rocked for four earned runs against the Mets on Wednesday, according to the Tacoma News Tribune. He added, "I have to make sure I get myself healthy before I go out there again, because Im the only guy trying to pitch through it. Everybody else, every time they feel pain, they go on the DL, or they take a rest, and I havent."
