The Braves were putting hits on the board but could not compete with the Cubs this evening, falling 10-5. Atlanta's offense was led by outfielder Greg Norton , going 2-for-4 with his second home run of the season to total three RBIs and two runs scored.

Greg Norton's MRI on his ailing left knee came back clean, and he could be ready to return to the diamond in a day or two, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Greg Norton was scratched from the Braves lineup on Thursday as his twisted knee hasn't responded well enough to allow him to play, according to MLB.com.

The Braves have acquired infielder Greg Norton from the Mariners for a player to be named or cash considerations, according to the AP. Norton played in six games for the Mariners before he was designated for assignment on Wednesday. He batted .435 (9-for-22) for Seattle and .409 (9-for-22) in seven outings at Triple-A Tacoma. The team also placed infielder Martin Prado on the 15-day DL with a left thumb injury. They transferred reliever Peter Moylan to the 60-day DL as well.

Greg Norton signed a minor league contract with the Mariners and will be invited to training camp according to a report on MLB.com. Norton had spent the past two seasons with the Rays hitting .243 with four HR in 75 games, hardly exciting numbers. He does have one skill, he is a solid pinch-hitter, but that doesn't matter in fantasy.
