The Braves have acquired infielder Greg Norton from the Mariners for a player to be named or cash considerations, according to the AP. Norton played in six games for the Mariners before he was designated for assignment on Wednesday. He batted .435 (9-for-22) for Seattle and .409 (9-for-22) in seven outings at Triple-A Tacoma. The team also placed infielder Martin Prado on the 15-day DL with a left thumb injury. They transferred reliever Peter Moylan to the 60-day DL as well.

Greg Norton signed a minor league contract with the Mariners and will be invited to training camp according to a report on MLB.com. Norton had spent the past two seasons with the Rays hitting .243 with four HR in 75 games, hardly exciting numbers. He does have one skill, he is a solid pinch-hitter, but that doesn't matter in fantasy.
