Kevin Millar will be back with the Orioles next season. On Friday, he reached 475 plate appearances, which triggered a $2.75 million vesting option for 2008. Millar is hitting .259 with 15 homers for Baltimore this season.

Kevin Millar had a walk in five plate appearances Wednesday and has now reached base in 44 straight games. Millar isn't having a dynamic year by any means, but his .825 OPS is his highest since 2004.

Kevin Millar, who was not in the starting lineup for the fifth time in the past eight games on Monday night, is getting frustrated with his lack of playing time, according to the Baltimore Sun. "It's getting there," said Millar. "I am just going to be patient at this time and let things play out. It always works out. But it's been frustrating. We've been losing a lot. We were playing good as a group and then we got in a tough spell as a team. Personally, you just wait your turn now. In 65 at-bats this year, Millar is hitting .231 with two homers and seven RBI.

The bad news is that a sore right forearm will keep him out of the mix again, according to the Baltimore Sun. "We want to get everything calmed down, so we'll give him a couple days and then shoot him back in there," manager Sam Perlozzo said.
