Kevin Millar is dealing with a strained right hamstring and bruised left shin, but he doesn't want to take time off. "He's the manager, but I'll resist it if it's because of the hamstring," Millar tells the Baltimore Sun. "I'm 100 percent fine. Dave (Trembley) knows I'm 100 percent fine." The veteran admits he hasn't been able to run at full speed since straining his hamstring about 10 days ago.

It wasn't easy, but Baltimore used every bit of 11 innings, including topping the Yanks' run with two of their own in the bottom of the 11th, to emerge 10-9 for the win. Baltimore first baseman Kevin Millar was the force of offensive reckoning for the O's, going 3-for-5 with a walk at the dish, hitting his fifth double of the season as well as two home runs on the night, totaling three RBIs and two runs scored.

Kevin Millar , who was beaned during Friday's spring game, took batting practice Monday morning and swung without any restrictions, notes the Baltimore Sun. He'll play tomorrow and Wednesday according to the report, and manager Dave Trembley hopes to get nine innings out of him on both days. Millar remains an AL-only option in deep formats, at best.
March 21, 2008
The beaning Kevin Millar received Friday apparently wasn't too serious. X-ray's didn't reveal any breaks, and he expects to be back in the lineup in two days, if not sooner, according to the Baltimore Sun. Millar is likely to bat cleanup for the O's and this minor setback shouldn't affect those plans.
March 21, 2008
Kevin Millar exited Friday's game in the fifth inning after getting plunked on the left hand, according to the Baltimore Sun. Millar was in obvious pain, leaping in the air and pacing in circles. This news comes on the same day that manager Dave Trembley said Millar is likely to be the team's cleanup hitter this season. Scott Moore and Mike Constanzo would be the most likely candidate to fill in should Millar have to miss significant time.
March 21, 2008
Kevin Millar could be batting cleanup for the Orioles on opening day. "If I had to write the lineup out tomorrow, Millar would be the cleanup hitter to start the season," manager Dave Trembley said in the Washington Post. "That doesn't mean he'll stay there, but to start the season, that's what I'll probably do." Millar doesn't have the typical power of a cleanup hitter, but at the very least he would serve as a right-handed buffer between the left-handed bats of Nick Markakis and Aubrey Huff.
March 19, 2008
Kevin Millar will be in the lineup on Wednesday despite a sore right elbow that required icing in the morning, the Baltimore Sun reports. The ailment was chalked up as typical spring aches and pains.

Kevin Millar went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a sacrifice fly in Baltimore’s 1-4 loss to the Mets in the Grapefruit League today.
