Julio Lugo was back in the lineup on Monday after being benched the previous three games. He went 0-for-2 with two walks and is hitless his last 33 at-bats, dropping his average to .189.

Julio Lugo was out of the starting lineup for the third straight game on Sunday, although he did enter Sunday's contest as a pinch-runner. Lugo has just three hits in his last 45 at-bats, and it's unclear when he'll return to the lineup.

Julio Lugo, who is hitless in his past 29 at-bats, did not start on Tuesday, according to the AP. Manager Terry Francona said Lugo's slump was the reason he sat, not because Lugo didn't run out a foul out in the fourth inning Monday night. "That's frustration. I'm not saying that's good, but that's frustration," Francona said. "But if you are asking me if I care about that, yeah." Francona said Lugo will likely start Wednesday.

Julio Lugo was given the day off Saturday, the AP reports. He's 5-for-40 in his last 11 games, dropping his average to .210. The one silver lining with Lugo has been his baserunning, as he's a perfect 19-for-19 on steal attempts this season.

Julio Lugo batted ninth for the second straight game Wednesday. He also went 0-for-4, dropping his average to .211. The saving grace to Lugo's fantasy season is his 18 stolen bases (and he's yet to be caught); otherwise, he's having a lost year in Boston.

Julio Lugo was dropped from first to ninth in the batting order Tuesday night. Rookie Dustin Pedroia led off instead. Lugo entered the game game batting .213, and he went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Julio Lugo had a monster stat night on Friday. He was 3-for-4 with a single, a double, a homer, three walks, three RBI and two stolen bases in the Red Sox 11-4 win over the Yankees.

Julio Lugo hit .317 in his first camp with the Red Sox, along with four steals in six attempts. Only one of his 20 hits went for extra bases, however.
