Frank Thomas left Saturday's game in the fifth inning with a sore right knee, the AP reports. Thomas is doubtful for Sunday. "It's a twisted knee," said Thomas, hurt on a swing in the muddy batters' box. "I don't think it's major, but I wasn't feeling too good."

Frank Thomas will probably be reduced to a pinch-hitting role this weekend as the Blue Jays play in Philadlephia and lose the DH, the Toronto Sun reports. Thomas is off to a slow start this year (.236, five homers), and he went 4-for-28 on Toronto's just-completed homestand.

Frank Thomas is hitting just .200 on the year and all four of his RBI came in a grand slam against the Devil Rays on April 7. Nonetheless, Blue Jays manger John Gibbons said he hasn't considered giving the struggling Thomas a day off. "I don't think we're there yet," Gibbons told the AP.
