The Tigers found five players to post one RBI each this evening, pulling the 7-1 win over Kansas City. The man of the hour had to be second baseman Placido Polanco , going 2-for-5 with his 21st double and fourth homer of the season to total two RBIs and two runs scored on the night.

Placido Polanco didn't start after being sworn in as a U.S. citizen before the game, this according to the AP. The native of the Dominican Republic entered in the seventh inning after Edgar Renteria strained a hamstring running out a ground ball.

Placido Polanco was ejected from Thursday's contest against the Cardinals for arguing balls and strikes, according to the Miami Herald. He was struck out looking against Ron Villone in the bottom of the sixth inning, and was tossed by home plate umpire Paul Schrieber after questioning the call.

Placido Polanco has continued his resurgence after a slow start, and with his 2-for-4 effort yesterday against St. Louis, he is now batting .380 in June, and .314 on the year.
