The White Sox acquired Javy Vazquez from the Diamondbacks in exchange for Orlando Hernandez, Luis Vizcaino and center field prospect Chris Young. Vazquez goes from one hitter's park to another in the deal, but will have a much better bullpen behind him in Chicago.

A baseball insider suggested to the New York Daily News that the White Sox are the most likely destination for Javier Vazquez, possibly leading to a trade involving Jon Garland or Jose Contreras.

Javier Vazquez, who has filed a trade request, said he doesn't want to be traded back to the Yankees, according to the Arizona Republic. "I don't want to return to the Yankees because I don't like the way they dealt with me," he said.

Javier Vazquez has filed a formal trade demand, giving the D'Backs until March 15 to deal him, according to the AP. Vazquez had the right to file the demand during the 15 days after the World Series because he was a veteran player traded during a multi-year contract. If he is not traded by March 15 and he does not withdraw his trade demand, he will become a free agent. However, he would also give up the $24 million that is left on his contract.

Javier Vazquez has two years left on his contract worth $24 million, but he can force Arizona to move him by March 15, according to the Arizona Republic. If not, he can become a free agent. When he makes his decision, Vazquez said he would announce it.

Javier Vazquez has been moved up in the Diamondbacks' rotation and will make a second start this week on Sunday, according to the Arizona Republic. Rookie Dustin Nippert had been scheduled to face the Dodgers. "You've got to try to put your best foot forward," manager Bob Melvin said. "Not that Nippert wouldn't have a chance against them, (but) you like to run most of your veterans out there against a team that's in first place and in contention to win the division."

Javier Vazquez has stomach flu and missed his scheduled start against San Diego Tuesday night, according to the AP. If he feels better, Vazquez will start in the series finale on Wednesday. Brad Halsey was moved up one day to start in his place.

Javier Vazquez finally issued a walk Thursday, ending his club records for consecutive innings pitched at 54 1/3 and batters faced at 220 before allowing a walk, according to the Arizona Republic. Vazquez tossed six innings, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks in six innings of work against the Twins.

It looks like Javier Vazquez might be staying in Arizona after all, according to the Baltimore Sun. The D'Backs have refused to engage in serious trade talks regarding Vazquez, and they insist that their newly acquired pitcher would be happy to remain with the team.
