The White Sox acquired Javy Vazquez from the Diamondbacks in exchange for Orlando Hernandez, Luis Vizcaino and center field prospect Chris Young. Vazquez goes from one hitter's park to another in the deal, but will have a much better bullpen behind him in Chicago.

Vazquez had the right to file the demand during the 15 days after the World Series because he was a veteran player traded during a multi-year contract. If he is not traded by March 15 and he does not withdraw his trade demand, he will become a free agent. However, he would also give up the $24 million that is left on his contract.
