The Indians traded Andrew Brown and Kevin Kouzmanoff to the Padres Wednesday in exchange for Josh Barfield, according to the San Diego Tribune. Brown held a 2.60 ERA in 39 appearances for Triple-A Buffalo this past year before posting a 3.60 ERA in nine games with the Tribe. He should compete for a bullpen job in San Diego in 2007.

The Indians called up Andrew Brown on Sunday, according to the AP. Brown, who is 5-4 with a 2.60 ERA and five saves for Triple-A Buffalo, spent two short stints with the Indians last season but did not appear in a game.
