Jason Marquis will start on Saturday instead of Jeff Suppan, according to the AP.

Jason Marquis may be used in relief Tuesday, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "If we know who we're playing (in the playoffs)," pitching coach Dave Duncan said, "that could be a start (for Marquis)." Matt Morris starts Tuesday and Marquis may start Saturday.

Jason Marquis was pushed up a day in the Cardinals rotation on Saturday to replace Mark Mulder, who was scratched with a stiff neck. Marquis, who was 0-7 with a 7.24 ERA in his previous seven starts and lasted only three innings in his last outing, responded by tossing a complete game two-hit shutout. It was his first career shutout and complete game.
