Kevin Millwood, who is battling an upper respiratory infection, said he felt better Thursday and is still scheduled to make his start tonight, according to the Dallas Morning News. Millwood has been struggling mightily as of late, though, holding an 11.25 ERA over his last two starts, so it's doubtful you'll want to start him, anyway.

The Rangers have flip-flopped Kevin Millwood and Jamey Wright in the rotation so Millwood can work Friday on his normal rest, the AP reports. Millwood hasn't been reliable most of the year, but he did record a win and a surprising 10 strikeouts in his start last Sunday against the Reds.

Kevin Millwood had a bullpen session Friday and will make a five-inning rehab start for Double-A Frisco on Sunday, the AP reports. Millwood is on the DL for the second time this season with a left hamstring strain. If Millwood emerges from Sunday's start in good health, he would be activated next week in Seattle, the second leg of a seven-game road trip.

Kevin Millwood had a light throwing session off the mound Wednesday morning, according to the AP. Manager Ron Washington said the team will be cautious with Millwood, who has already had two stints on the DL due to a strained left hamstring. "You always take precautions with hamstrings," Washington said. "We'll be extra cautious this time. We don't want him to come back and then go through this again."

He struggled prior to his departure, allowing four runs on four hits and four walks in 1 2/3 innings. It's unclear if he'll be placed back on the DL.

Kevin Millwood threw just 82 pitches in his start Monday, by design, the Rangers official site reports. Manager Ron Washington said he wants to limit his starting pitchers to 90 pitches in their first start and no more than 100 pitches the second time around.
