The Sun-Times reports that Magglio Ordonez underwent another surgical procedure two weeks ago in Europe to help speed his recovery from bone-marrow edema. The paper cited an expert in the field, who wasn't familiar with Ordonez's situation, who said such surgery usually requires 4-6 weeks of recovery time. If that is the case, he would be ready for spring training, though it remains unclear for whom the free agent will be playing then.
