Scott Eyre earned his first save of the season Thursday night after Matt Herges struggled to hold a three-run lead in the ninth. Manager Felipe Alou brought in the lefty Eyre to retire Larry Walker with tying runs on base. This does not signal a potential change in the closer role from Herges to Eyre, as this was essentially a situational save.
