The Cubs activated Scott Eyre from the DL Friday, according to the AP. Eyre had been sidelined since Aug. 16 with a right hamstring strain. He has a 2.60 ERA in 60 relief appearances this year.

The Cubs placed Scott Eyre on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday, according to the AP. He strained his hamstring on Tuesday night. It is not known how long he will be out.

Scott Eyre was forced to leave last night's game in the eighth inning with an apparent injury to his right leg, according to the Daily Southtown. It appears that he might need a trip to the disabled list, though more should be known after he's examined further today.

After tweaking his hamstring on Friday, Scott Eyre declared himself ready to pitch on Saturday, according to the Daily Herald. "Its been tight for a while; no big deal," said Eyre. "Its way up high on my butt. So I get my butt rubbed every day. Its cool. My problem is my wifes not doing the rubbing. Its [assistant trainer] Ed [Halbur]. Put that one in the paper."
