The Mets are expected to pursue a starter this offseason, and if they land one, Orlando Hernandez could be moved to the bullpen, according to the New York Post. The move would seem to make sense, as the Mets' bullpen really struggled last year and El Duque could stand a better chance at staying healthy.

Not only is Orlando Hernandez dealing with a sore tendon in his right foot, but now the more pressing issue apparently is a bunion that he has developed on the foot. GM Omar Minaya said that El Duque is day-to-day, and he said he isn't sure when the right-hander will pitch again, according to the New York Post. Minaya also revealed that the foot has actually has bothered Hernandez the entire season.
