Paul Lo Duca, who recently signed a one-year contract with the Nationals, was named in the Mitchell Report on Thursday. Lo Duca reportedly ordered multiple shipments of HGH a few years ago.

Paul Lo Duca agreed to a one-year contract with the Nationals on Monday. The deal is pending a physical. Lo Duca, who hit .272 with nine homers in 2007, will handle the everyday catching duties for Washington, replacing Brian Schneider, who was shipped to the Mets in the Lastings Milledge trade.

Lo Duca says he's healthy enough to play, but manager Willie Randolph wants to be cautious with his catcher. "He's not ready," Randolph said. "No way am I going to put my number one catcher out there on the (fourth) of August with a possibility of me losing him for a month if he pops it again." Randolph said that Lo Duca will take part in pregame drills on Tuesday before a decision is made on his return.

He appealed the penalty and cannot be disciplined until after a hearing is held. Lo Duca was in the starting lineup for Monday night's game against St. Louis.
