Odalis Perez was optimistic Saturday after an examination showed no serious problems with his throwing arm, according to the AP. He was limited to five innings Thursday night by left biceps tightness. "Everything is fine," Perez said. "I'm getting treatment. The pain is not there anymore." Manager Jim Tracy said Perez could pitch again as early as Saturday. Perez was scheduled to start on Wednesday, but Tracy said his turn could be pushed back without affecting the rotation because of an off day on Monday.

The Dodgers were encouraged with his bullpen session on Friday. "I've been improving a lot since I got injured," Perez said. "I would say everything is going to look fine for the second half."
