Adam Kennedy had reconstructive surgery on his right knee Friday and might miss part of next season, according to the AP. Kennedy is scheduled to begin rehabilitation in approximately 10 days and there is no timetable for his return. It's unlikely that he'll be ready for opening day next season.

Adam Kennedy is scheduled to undergo surgery tomorrow to repair torn ligaments in his right knee, according to the LA Times. His availability for spring training is unclear at this time. Kennedy has a completely torn ACL and a partially torn MCL.

The AP reports the Angels announced today that Adam Kennedy will bat ninth this season. "He\'s certainly got the ability to hit at the top as he did for a stretch in 2002 and he did a terrific job. With Adam hitting ninth, it gives us a little offense that\'s important with (David) Eckstein and (Darin) Erstad. That\'s a pretty good table of hitters for the middle of your lineup," said Angels manager Mike Sciosca.
