Gil Meche struck out 10 Indians in seven innings on Saturday night as he won his 11th game and his first since August fourth. He gave up just one run on three hits.

Gil Meche was pounded by the Texas Rangers, giving up a season-high 14 hits in 6.1 innings, and allowing five earned runs in the Royals 9-4 loss.

Kansas City ace Gil Meche was strong off the rubber this evening, but the relief pitching and offense failed to support his effort. Meche pitched seven innings, allowing three runs (only one earned) on just two hits with one walk and nine strikeouts. He walked with no decision though his Royals fell 8-5 to the Indians.

Gil Meche's terrific effort was spoiled Friday by the Royals' bullpen. Meche allowed only one run on six hits and two walks while striking out eight over six innings but lost his win when Ron Mahay gave up two runs in the seventh. The Royals went on to win the game

Gil Meche did not figure in the decision, but he threw 6.1 innings, giving up four runs on five hits and an absurd seven walks in the Royals 5-4 win over Minnesota.
