Seattle recalled Gil Meche from Triple-A Tacoma so he could start Friday night against the Anaheim Angels, according to the AP. Meche was 1-3 with a 5.05 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 10 starts at Tacoma. Earlier this season with the Mariners, he was 1-5 with a 7.06 ERA in 10 starts.

Mariners manager Bob Melvin indicated that Gil Meche will most likely start the club's next game on Tuesday, according to the Seattle Times. Meche has a 5.62 ERA in seven starts, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he loses his spot in the rotation if he continues to pitch poorly.
