The Tigers sold John McDonald back to the Blue Jays on Thursday, according to the AP. Detroit sent cash to Toronto to complete a July 22 trade for McDonald last week.

The Blue Jays traded John McDonald to the Tigers in exchange for a player to be named later, according to the AP. McDonald hit .290 with 12 RBI in 37 games in Toronto. He will provide depth in Detroit's middle infield with Placido Polanco on the DL.
