The Toronto Blue Jays posted nine hits against the Cleveland Indians this evening, but not one resulted in a run scored as the Jays fall hard, 12-0. SS Marco Scutaro went 2-for-4 at the plate and was the only Jay to post an extra-base hit, picking up his second double of the season.
May 7, 2008
Marco Scutaro, starting at shortstop with David Eckstein and John McDonald injured, went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Jays.
April 6, 2008
Marco Scutaro is expected to start at third base against the Red Sox on Sunday, according to the Providence Journal. Scutaro has been nursing a hand ailment, but is reportedly ready to go today.
April 3, 2008
Marco Scutaro was hit on the hand by a pitch in the ninth inning against the Yankees on Wednesday, according to the Toronto Star. Manager Gibbons commented that he was feeling "tender" and that the hand will be checked again today. If Scutaro is a scratch, then John McDonald would likely get the call at third base.
March 26, 2008
Marco Scutaro continues to lobby for fantasy consideration, enjoying a strong day of hitting for the Blue Jays in a 6-3 win over Cincinnati. Slated to start at third base while Scott Rolen recovers from injury, Scutaro went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, bringing his spring batting average to .314. The utility man for the Jays, likely to see time at third, second, and in the outfield this season, is showing he can get work done at the plate regardless of his position in the field. In AL-only formats, Scutaro is starting to become a rather attractive option.
