Marco Scutaro started in left field for the A's on Saturday with Bobby Kielty and Mark Kotsay sidelined with back injuries. The AP reports that it was Scutaro's first career start in the outfield although he played two innings there for the Mets in 2002.

Now that Bobby Crosby is back from the DL, Marco Scutaro will slide over from shortstop to second base, where he will split time with Mark Ellis, according to the Contra Costa Times. Ellis leads the team with a .288 average, so Scutaro can expect to see his playing time drastically reduced.
