Marco Scutaro should continue to start at shortstop for the A's for a while now that Bobby Crosby is back on the disabled list. Scutaro started the last few games while Crosby was out. He's hitting just .228 this season with three homers and one steal in 197 at-bats.

Manager Ken Macha said that Marco Scutaro will see more playing time, according to the Athletics website. Macha wants to give regular second baseman Mark Ellis some extra time off in an effort to get his bat going.

With Mark Ellis back from the disabled list, Marco Scutaro will see significantly less playing time. Scutaro, who is hitting .224 in 156 at-bats this year, holds a .333 BA over the last 12 games.

Marco Scutaro will take over at second base for the A's while Mark Ellis is out with a broken thumb, according to the AP. Scutaro played well while filling in for Bobby Crosby at shortstop last year, and the A's already have Antonio Perez as a backup infielder, so they may bring up a player at a different position to fill Ellis' roster spot.

Marco Scutaro started at second for the A's on Saturday as Mark Ellis is given a couple of days to work on his swing. Scutaro is scheduled to start at second again on Sunday.

Marco Scutaro will start in place of the struggling Mark Ellis today, according to the Contra Costa Times. Scutaro is hitting .412 (7-for-17) with three homers against today's starter, Jamie Moyer.

A's manager Ken Macha said Marco Scutaro likely will play six or seven straight games while Bobby Crosby is sidelined, though Antonio Perez is a viable option at shortstop, according to the Contra Costa Times.

Marco Scutaro will likely see the bulk of the action at shortstop over the next week while Bobby Crosby recovers from a finger injury. "I told Scutaro in the middle of the game to be ready to play Tuesday," manager Ken Macha said. "I have a lot of confidence in him. ... That's why you have a deep bench. One day you're not in there and the next day you're in there for two months."

Marco Scutaro took batting practice Wednesday but still missed his third straight game, according to the AP. He is battling a sore left shoulder.

The Contra Costa Times reports that Marco Scutaro injured his left shoulder on a slide Saturday and has missed three games since. He's considered day-to-day.
