Mike Redmond won't play again this season. An MRI found no structural damage in his sore middle finger, but the ligament is strained enough to keep him from playing again down the stretch, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He won't be rehab for another 6-8 weeks, but he should be ready for spring training.

Mike Redmond will see a hand specialist later this week in Minneapolis when the Twins return home, the AP reports. He hasn't played on the current road trip because of a sore finger.

Mike Redmond won't be returning to the lineup anytime soon. When asked if he could be back sometime this week, Redmond replied, "No way, man. It's going to be a while." An X-ray revealed nothing more than strained ligaments, but the only way for the injury to heal is with rest, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Mike Redmond re-aggravated his dislocated left middle finger again on Tuesday, forcing the Twins to use Joe Mauer at catcher when he wasn't healthy. The injury has bothered Redmond since July, but he has attempted to play through it, according to the Star-Tribune. He will get an MRI on the finger today, though, and it's possible he'll need some time off.

Mike Redmond re-aggravated a knuckle injury while batting in the fifth inning Monday, the AP reports. The injury has bothered him for six weeks, but with starting catcher Joe Mauer (strained hamstring) out of the lineup, Redmond has no choice but to keep playing. "It is what it is," said Redmond. "These games are big." He went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's loss at Cleveland.

Mike Redmond, who is recovering from an injured knuckle on his left hand, took some batting cage swings on Sunday and said he felt better, according to the AP. He's expected to be ready for the Toronto series, which begins on Monday.

Mike Redmond injured one of his knuckles during an at-bat on Thursday and his availability was limited for Saturday, the AP reports. Redmond did not take batting practice on Saturday, and Ron Gardenhire said if the catcher wasn't feeling better by Sunday, he might have to consider making a roster move.

Mike Redmond was back in the lineup Saturday with seven stitches in his head, the AP reports. Redmond left Friday's nightcap in the first inning when he was hit by Jim Thome's bat. "He came in all fired up today," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said.

Mike Redmond suffered a large gash on his head and left the second game of Friday's day-night doubleheader after Chicago's Jim Thome accidentally hit him with his bat, according to the AP. He received stitches at the ballpark and was replaced by Joe Mauer.

With Joe Mauer landing on the disabled list, Mike Redmond will serve as the Twins starting catcher. Redmond is hitting just .226 on the year, but he has 12 RBI and usually bats third in Minnesota's lineup.

Mike Redmond was hit on his left shoulder by Tony Pena Jr's backswing Thursday, but he stayed in the game, according to the AP. "I don't come out of games, unless they carry me out," Redmond said. His shoulder was wrapped in ice after the game.
