Matt Wise will be held out of baseball activities in the foreseeable future, the New York Post reports. He is on the DL due to a sore right shoulder and hasn't pitched since May 26.

Matt Wise is going to get a second opinion on his ailing right rotator cuff (tendinitis), according to MLB.com. Manager Willie Randolph said, "It must be relatively serious. I don't know if he's going to be out of the year, but he's going to be out a couple months, probably."

Matt Wise is ready to return to the Mets' bullpen, but Manager Willie Randolph is yet to pull the trigger with a move, according to the NY Daily News. Randolph said, "He's ready, I guess, but we're not ready to make that roster move yet. Could be today, could be Sunday or Monday. But I would say in the very near future." Wise added, "I want to able to help them as much as I can in this five-month span and then the playoffs. I'm kind of hanging out."

The Mets are ready to bring Matt Wise back, and like the idea of having a fresh arm for their bullpen, according to MetsBlog. The Mets have seven relief pitchers on the roster, but Manager Willie Randolph said he prefers to have eight relievers on the team, and would play short on the bench (with hitters).

He surrendered a game-winning home run to Florida's Robert Andino in his last outing and commented, "I've had three elbow surgeries, and this doesn't feel like anything."
