The Cincinnati Reds will not bring back outfielder Corey Patterson, according to MLB.com. "I don't think he'll be back. We'll turn the page." Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said.

Reds manager Dusty Baker had heard enough of the gossip about his 28-year-old daughter dating Cincinnati outfielder Corey Patterson, so he went out of his way to squash the rumor, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. "This is so far out of line. It's hurtful to my wife and daughter. How can people stoop that low?" Baker asked.

Corey Patterson stole a base, had a hit, knocked in a run, picked up a walk and scored two runs on Saturday for the Reds. It's starting to look an awful lot like Patterson is going to be in the lineup almost every day, and if that is how the situation works out Patterson goes from being a great NL Only play to looking like a starter in mixed leagues because of his speed and run scored potential from the top of the Reds lineup.

The journey from non-roster invitee to opening day starter is complete for CF Corey Patterson , according to MLB.com. Jolbert Cabrera has been reassigned to minor league camp and top prospect Jay Bruce was sent to Triple-A Louisville last week, leaving manager Dusty Baker to confirm after Saturday's game that Patterson will start. A late-camp addition, Patterson signed a minor league contract with the Reds on March 3rd. The 28-year-old has played eight seasons in the majors and had a solid spring, batting .293.

Corey Patterson continues to impress since being signed earlier in the month. The center fielder went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in the Reds' win over Detroit on Monday. Patterson is hitting .474 this spring and making a case to be the team's starting center fielder when camp breaks at the end of the month.

The Orioles could end up bringing back free agent Corey Patterson if they don't trade for a young center fielder in the coming weeks. "I have had discussions with his representative, Scott Boras, and they are familiar with our interest," Orioles president Andy MacPhail said in the Baltimore Sun. "We have agreed we will touch base a little later." Patterson hit .269 with eight homers, 45 RBI and 37 steals last season.
