Felipe Lopez ended his impressive stint with the Cardinals by going 4-for-5 with four RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 11-4 victory over the Reds. He will be a free agent this offseason and has rejuvenated his career while with the Redbirds.

In the ever-changing Cardinals lineup Felipe Lopez finds himself batting in the cleanup spot, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Hitting behind Albert Pujols, Lopez should have some RBI opportunities.

Manager Tony LaRussa stated that Felipe Lopez is likely to cover third base while Troy Glaus recovers from his right shoulder ailment, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Olympian Brian Barden is also a candidate for the job. Brendan Ryan, Cesar Izturis and Aaron Miles have all also served time at third base before.
