The Reds want to continue to look at Felipe Lopez, and he'll get a lot of playing time at shortstop for the rest of the season along with Anderson Machado, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Felipe Lopez has impressed the Reds with his play while filling in for the injured Barry Larkin. In fact, his play has been one reason why the club hasn't rushed Larkin back to the lineup. Lopez entered Monday's game hitting .381 for the month of August.

The Reds recalled Felipe Lopez from Triple-A Louisville to replace Jason Romano on the active roster. Lopez hit .273 with nine homers in 75 games with Louisville and probably won't get much playing time with the Reds.

The Reds assigned Felipe Lopez to Triple-A Louisville to make room on the roster for Aaron Harang. The move was also made because Barry Larkin showed in pregame workouts Saturday that he's recovered from the strained abdominal muscle that kept him out of the last six game, according to the AP.
