Nationals manager Manny Acta shook up his batting order Friday in Pittsburgh, dropping Felipe Lopez to seventh and moving Ronnie Belliard up to second, according to the AP. Acta wants to give Lopez more opportunities to hit with runners in scoring position and generate more offense. Lopez had only two RBI in his previous 10 games.

Felipe Lopez went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts Saturday, his second four-strikeout game of the season and the fifth of his career, the AP reports. Manager Manny Acta planned to give Lopez the day off Sunday but as a rest, not a punishment. Lopez is hitting just .120 in June (6-for-50).

Felipe Lopez was not in Friday's lineup, but it was not because he didn't run out a ground ball the day before, according to the AP. "It has more to do with (Ronnie) Belliard and how he's playing," manager Manny Acta said. Belliard, entering Friday's game, had nine hits in his last 18 at-bats. Lopez is in a 2-for-26 slump, but Acta said the issue of him not hustling was over and that he expected Lopez to snap out of his skid soon.

Felipe Lopez and the Nationals avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $3.9 million, one-year deal Monday, the AP reports. The Nats acquired Lopez in July in a trade with the Reds. He batted .274 overall in 2006, with 11 homers, 52 RBIs and 44 steals.
