And it’s been able to help me change my hitting stance and hitting outlook all together.”
June 6, 2008

May 13, 2008
The White Sox must have lost their sticks on the way to the park, for the box score reveals the team was held to no runs on just three hits in the 2-0 loss to the LA Angels. Of those three hits, only one was produced by a man that found himself on base twice. 3B Joe Crede went 1-for-2 at the plate with a walk, also adding one of nine strikeouts on the evening in a game that fails to match depiction.

April 23, 2008
Chicago 3B Joe Crede continues to work as the sign of hope for the bottom of the White Sox batting order, but his efforts were not enough to lift the Sox over the Yankees this evening, falling 6-4. Crede went 1-for-4 at the plate with his sixth homer of the season to add his 20th RBI of the campaign.

April 11, 2008

April 9, 2008

Crede went 2-for-4 at the plate with his third double and third home run of the season. Joe Crede currently leads the league in RBI with 10. He collected 11 hits over 28 at-bats, with two homers, and his fantasy stock will continue to rise as long as he can stay healthy.
April 7, 2008
Joe Crede was the hero on Monday as he hit a grand slam to lead the Sox to a 7-4 victory over the Twins. Crede is now batting .393 with 10 RBI in just seven games this year, so he is clearly proving that his back woes of last year are behind him. If he keeps hitting like this the team may choose to hold on to him and not move him in a trade which would torpedo the value of Josh Fields completely.
April 6, 2008
Joe Crede was 4-for-5 in Sunday's win over Detroit and is hitting .375 on the young season. The White Sox management appear to have made the right decision by sending uber-prospect Josh Fields to the farm for fine tuning. As long as Crede is healthy (chronic back ailment) he figures to produce. Owners should ride the third baseman while he's hot.
April 1, 2008
Joe Crede has been slowed by an ankle injury but he was able to play against rival Cleveland on opening day, and seems fine as he went 1-for-5 with a crushing double that hit the center field wall. Crede could have a favorable bounce back year if he can stay healthy, and this was a good start for him.
March 31, 2008
Joe Crede was able to play in the White Sox opener against rival Cleveland on Monday. He has been slowed by an ankle injury and his status was up in the air prior to game time. Crede suffered through an injury spoiled season in 2007, and it is good to see him able to play in the opener today. Hopefully he can stay healthy and get his career back on the right track.
March 30, 2008
Following up an earlier report on Joe Crede , and his ankle injury, it appears that the White Sox third baseman will have a chance to open at third base on Monday. According to the Chicago Tribune, Crede played four innings in the field on Saturday and is expected to be available. Whether he starts or not won't be known until lineups are due.
March 30, 2008
Manager Ozzie Guillen told MLB.com that he believes third baseman Joe Crede will play opening day, even after missing Friday's game with an ankle injury. The x-rays came back negative, but Crede told the team website he was unsure of his Monday status. Despite Ozzie's optimism, expect Pablo Ozuna to be the opening day third baseman Monday.
March 28, 2008
Joe Crede missed Friday's game because of a bruised left ankle, but he hopes to be ready for Monday's season opener against the Indians, according to the AP. "It's still a little swollen, but it's kind of day-to-day right now. I feel good about where we're at right now with the injury, but I'm not real worried about it," Crede said. "It's nothing out of the ordinary." Manager Ozzie Guillen expects Crede to be ready Monday, but if he's not, Pablo Ozuna could get the start at the hot corner.
March 27, 2008
Joe Crede was given a precautionary X-Ray, according to MLB.com. Crede left Thursday's Cactus League closer against the D-backs in the fifth inning after fouling a pitch off his left ankle. After icing down the ankle in the clubhouse, the training staff decided to take a precautionary X-ray. The X-ray was still pending after the game, but the training staff didn't anticipate any serious problems. Manager Guillen commented, "I was really concerned about Joe. I don't have the final report yet, but he got hit pretty good. Joe is a tough guy. I wouldn't have finished that at-bat. I would have left right away." Joe has won the starting third base job while Josh Fields was sent down, and hopefully he will be fine for opening day.
March 25, 2008
Joe Crede is set to begin the season as the White Sox's starting third baseman after Josh Fields was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. Apparently, Crede's .170 batting average and two RBI in 47 exhibition at-bats was intriguing to the Sox. In reality, the Sox must be hoping he can do enough on the field early on to warrant more interest on the trade market, so they can move him and bring Fields back up.
March 24, 2008
Jose Castillo, who was claimed by the Giants off waivers from the Fish, has likely kept Joe Crede in Chicago, or at the least, out of the Bay Area papers as a possible acquisition from the White Sox. While Castillo is well beyond the conditions of his prime, and even then, was an average player, the move to pick up the veteran was a good one by the Giants front office. He presence on the team will halt all the speculation that the Giants would consider trading for a player speculated to have a chronic back condition, Crede. The Sox continue to posture Crede as their starting third baseman, but those in the know understand that Josh Fields is the future at the hotbox. Crede is soon to be a wandering injury-prone backup moving from team-to-team. Note: Crede injured his knee on Friday after getting hit by a flying broken bat. When it rains it pours. Yes?
March 21, 2008
Joe Crede injured his knee on Friday when a broken bat flew into the White Sox dugout, this according to the AP. Crede was seen icing his knee and manager Jose Guillen say that the injury was nothing at all. Crede will almost certainly be the Sox starting at 3B on opening day, and the question now becomes, will Josh Fields start the year with the big league club or be optioned back to the minors?
March 20, 2008
Despite a miserable performance at the plate this spring, and missing almost all of last season with a herniated disc problem, Joe Crede appears to be the opening day starter at third base over the younger Josh Fields. The White Sox could still barter the services of Crede, but despite the fact several teams are in need of an experienced third baseman, no organization has stepped up to the plate and met Chicago's asking price.
March 13, 2008
MLB Trade Rumors reports that the Giants have recently scouted Joe Crede and Brandon Inge. The report notes that the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo said the Giants could be less likely to acquire Crede given the Noah Lowry injury. Then on Monday, Kenny Williams mentioned that the two teams he'd discussed Crede with hadn't impressed with their offers. Williams suggested Crede could be his opening day third baseman, despite Josh Fields' worthiness.
March 10, 2008
Joe Crede may in fact remain with the White Sox this season despite many trade rumors, according to the Chicago Sun Times. GM Kenny Williams stated that the team received two real offers for Crede but they did not favor the White Sox and Williams added that Crede has one year left on his contract. He also stated, "The most difficult thing in all of this would be if I have to have that conversation with Josh Fields because he has done everything we've asked, and he's played well enough where he deserves to be on a big-league roster". Crede had a tough 2007 season due to injuries but he was a big part of the White Sox magical 2005 season and was a strong candidate for World Series MVP.
March 6, 2008
SI.com is reporting that the White Sox are not thrilled about what the Giants are offering for third baseman Joe Crede. A Giants person conceded, "We badly need bats.'' The Sox reportedly want Jonathan Sanchez who San Francisco apparently isn't willing to deal. At this point Crede may not be traded before the beginning of the season which ultimately hurts Josh Field's fantasy value.
March 2, 2008
One of Giants GM Brian Sabean's top advisors, Ted Uhlaender, was on hand Saturday to witness Joe Crede's home run, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. It has been widely reported that the Crede could be San Francisco-bound once the Giants are convinced that the third baseman's balky back isn't an issue. The Sox want to hand the third base job to Josh Fields.
March 1, 2008
Joe Crede is not willing to role over and give up his starting third base role to the younger Josh Fields. The veteran Crede blasted a home run over the bullpen beyond the left-field wall in Saturday's win over Arizona. Crede, however, has a chronic back ailment that can't be trusted. He is a high risk - low reward option -- and Fields might not get enough at bats to justify a roster spot in mixed formats. Third base for the Pale Sox is one position that should be avoided until late March.
February 28, 2008
Joe Crede played his first game since June 4th of last year on Thursday for the White Sox, and he went 0-for-2 with a run scored. Crede will look to prove he is healthy this spring, and if he does he will likely be traded to make room for Josh Fields at third base.
February 26, 2008
Joe Crede looked sharp defensively Tuesday in an intrasquad scrimmage, according to the Chicago Tribune. "If you go out there second-guessing yourself, that's when you get hurt," Crede said. It was his first game action since undergoing back surgery in June and recently suffering a bruised left hand. Crede, who was 0-for-2 at the plate, is likely to be traded if he can prove to be healthy this spring.
February 24, 2008
Joe Crede stepped up his workouts Saturday, hitting balls with authority and accelerating his running schedule, as he returns from a recently bruised left hand and last year's back surgery, according to the Chicago Tribune. "We're right on schedule," said Crede, who hopes to be ready for the White Sox's first exhibition game next week. With Josh Fields slated to start at third base, a healthy Crede likely will end up on the trading block.
February 23, 2008
Joe Crede took a little batting practice Friday, but the White Sox quickly nixed that because he still had soreness and swelling in his left hand, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. "The hand is sore, but we're expecting him to be back," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "His back is fine, and there haven't been any problems with it so far." Crede was plunked on the hand by a pitch Thursday, but X-rays revealed no breaks. It sounds like the hand is only a short-term ailment and that his recovery from back surgery continues to go well.
February 22, 2008
Joe Crede avoided a broken hand when he was hit by a pitch on Thursday. On Friday, he said he was day-to-day with a bone bruise and that the swelling already had gone down, according to MLB.com. He swung a bit in the batting cage Friday and plans to hit the field on Saturday. The White Sox may slow him down a little, but it sounds like he avoided anything serious, as he continues his return from June back surgery.
February 22, 2008
Joe Crede was clipped on his left hand by Mike MacDougal on Thursday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. X-rays were negative, but his hand was clearly swollen. We'll have to wait for further news on how his hand feels on Friday before declaring him good to go.
January 31, 2008
The Chicago Sun Times reports that if Joe Crede's balky back looks strong by the middle of Cactus League play, the the White Sox will trade him to a team in need of a starting third baseman. The top suitor remains San Francisco, who may even have a deal in place with the Sox, contingent on the back recovery. Apparently former Sox Aaron Rowand, the Giants' new center fielder, is pushing his new team to bring Crede to the Bay Area. With Pedro Feliz departing via free agency, the Giants desperately need an upgrade at the hot corner.
January 24, 2008
The Giants plan to monitor Joe Crede this spring to see if his back is healthy. If they like what they see, there's a good chance they'll pursue a trade for the third baseman, according to the Mercury News. Crede hit just .216 in only 167 at-bats last year before having back surgery. Free agent Morgan Ensberg is also on the team's radar.
January 18, 2008
Joe Crede avoided arbitration with the White Sox by agreeing to a one-year, $5.1 million deal Thursday. He can earn an additional $300,000 in performance bonuses. Crede will have to beat out Josh Fields for the third base job this spring - assuming he isn't traded before then.
