Adam Everett will spend a week in Florida playing in an instructional league, according to the AP. The Astros hope that Everett will be able to return in time for the NLCS, if they make it that far.

Adam Everett will play only in a limited role for the immediate future after being activated from the DL on Monday, according to the AP. He's coming back from a broke left wrist he sustained in early August. "I would consider using him as a pinch-runner or as a defensive replacement," Astros manager Phil Garner said. "I don't want to use him as a hitter right now."

The Astros activated Adam Everett last night, according to the Houston Chronicle. He'd been out with a fractured left wrist. "He can run, and he can probably play defense," Astros manager Phil Garner said. "I'm watching him today take batting practice, and this is the best he's swung the bat so far. He looks firm through the zone. He was a little tentative (Tuesday)."

"It's healing and it's almost completely healed, but not quite," Everett said. "If anything, it's going to be that last week. It's not going to be before then. That's another 10 days, hopefully, until the doctor clears me, and once it gets to there it's going to be on how I feel."

Adam Everett will miss at least four weeks after breaking his left wrist Friday when he was hit by a pitch from Claudio Vargas in the fourth inning, according to the AP. Everett fractured the ulna bone in his left wrist. It's not yet known whether surgery will be necessary.

There's no indication that the move was permanent, but you can bet Everett will get a few more chances to hit second given his success in Sunday's contest.
