Alfonso Soriano said his right leg has felt fine since returning Tuesday from a torn quad muscle. He has looked a little tentative on the basepaths, but Soriano said it's a mental thing more than anything else. "It's not physical. It's up here," he told the Chicago Sun-Times as he tapped the side of his head. "I know it's OK. But it's the mental [part] that's the difficult part. I hope it's just a few more games. But my hamstring [in April] took me like a couple weeks. That's the hard thing when you get hurt. Your body feels good, but mentally you have to play to be careful, so that's difficult." Soriano will get the day off today.

Fantasy owners can begin using Soriano again as soon as this period because it appears he will be able to play all week.

"But let's see what happens over in Arizona because we're going to start -- I'm not saying push him -- but he's going to get a lot of steady work, and we'll see how he feels." The Cubs had originally set a Labor Day return date for Soriano.

After completing his first day of running in the outfield since he was injured on August 5, Alfonso Soriano thinks that he'll be ready to return from the disabled list this weekend. "The fact that he's been taking batting practice has got his blood flowing a little bit, but we've got to be careful. One more setback, and the whole season's gone."
