| April 28, 2008 Shane Victorino could be activated from the DL tomorrow but the team may keep the hot hitting Jayson Werth in the lineup, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Victorino would naturally replace Werth in center field when he comes back, but the team may move Werth into right field in place of Geoff Jenkins. The team also may leave Werth in center and move Victorino to right. Manager Charlie Manuel stated, "I think right now Werth has shown he can play centerfield. Of course, Victorino at the start of our season, he was our center fielder. When you are hurt, you usually don't lose your job, unless somebody knocks the stuffing out of the ball. If somebody outplays you. I always thought if I was better than somebody, and I beat them out, that I deserved the right to play. And I'm 64 years old, and I still think that way. Now, it's up to that guy to win his job back." |
