Jayson Werth, who underwent surgery in November to repair two torn ligaments in his wrist and hasn't played this season, had a cortisone shot on Wednesday and his wrist was placed in a cast, according to the AP. "He has scar tissue that is irritated and inflamed," head athletic trainer Stan Johnston said. Johnston said Werth's wrist will be in a cast for 3-to-4 weeks and he'll probably need another 2-to-3 weeks of rehab after that before resuming baseball activities.

"It's beyond frustrating," he said. "Now I'm battling not only the repair but the scar tissue buildup after two months in a cast. I'm trying to get the healthy hacks. I'm not quite there yet."
