Wily Mo Pena played three innings in a game at extended spring training in Florida Tuesday, according to the AP. He went 0-for-1 at the plate with a strikeout, a walk and a run scored. He didn't have any opportunities in left field. Pena has been sidelined by a torn left side muscle and could return later this month.

Wily Mo Pena will open the season on the DL, but he is recovering ahead of schedule. He suffered a tear in his left oblique on March 12. "He's recovering very well," manager Manny Acta tells the Washington Post. "He's right on pace. The four to six weeks, who knows? Maybe he can turn it into three to five, or a legit four... He's doing better than expected." Elijah Dukes will start in left field until Pena returns.
