The Angels acquired outfielder Juan Rivera from the Expos in the Jose Guillen deal. Rivera will most likely be a bench player, but if the Angels don't sign an outfielder or move Darin Erstad back to the outfield, he could compete with Jeff DaVanon for playing time in left field.

Manager Frank Robinson plans to start Rivera again Wednesday against lefty Mike Hampton, giving Rivera two straight days in the lineup, according to the AP. "If I waited for him to play just against left-handers, he would never be sharp," Robinson said.
