With the demotion of Mark Teahen, Esteban German will take over at third base for the Royals, according to the team's official site. German had been hitting .458 (11-for-24) in a part-time role this year.

Esteban German left Sunday's game against the A's in the sixth inning after getting hit in the face by a misjudged flyball, according to the AP. He went 2-for-2 before leaving the game. Kerry Robinson replaced him in center field.
